Bubbles, Foundered Pony

"The horse has the innate ability to heal itself given the correct stimulus"

KC La Pierre, The Chosen Road

Bubbles' hoof capsule had rotated and suffered badly with chronic laminitis.

It took some time to restore the hoof capsule into the correct position, and required teamwork with his committed owner.  You can see Bubbles' full story in the case studies.

Applied Equine Podiatry is a science.

"The essence of Applied Equine Podiatry is the conscientious study of the equine foot, always striving to expose it to proper environmental stimuli, making every effort to promote proper structure and function, as we progress toward achieving high performance."

It is accepting the fact that the horse has the innate ability to heal itself and that the act of domestication has caused imbalance and broken the golden rule of  "Do No Harm."

Nevada, Andalusian Stallion

Over a 4 month period

"In Applied Equine Podiatry there are 5 dimensions of Balance with the fifth dimension being TIME"

KC La Pierre

We can see that a major problem for Nevada was balance, however, it required commitment from the owner to provide the correct stimulus, as we never remove this amount of structure where it is needed.
